‘Madhouse’,
a professional theatre group from Budapest are currently in South Kerry
and will be putting on plays in Waterville at the beginning of August.
The Producer is Mike Kelly from London and Ballinskelligs and the
plays have been very well received in various venues all over Europe.
The
first is ‘Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me’ by Frank McGuinness. This brilliantly written play has three hostages in a
cell in Lebanon. It’s
based at the time of the hostages, Brian Keenan and John McCarthy but
it’s not as grim as it sounds, it’s actually packed with humour!
Mike Kelly’s production of the play got great reviews in Budapest
and I’m sure that it will be well received in Waterville.
‘Someone Who’ll Watch Over Me’ will be in Tech Amergin on Monday
& Tuesday 4th & 5th of August, starting at
8.00 pm. Tickets
are €10.00 (concessions where applicable).
Because of limited space it would be a good idea to book in advance
to save confusion on the nights.
Mike Kelly is taking bookings on 087 4156409.
The second performance is ‘The Complete Works of
Shakespeare’. This is
a humorous romp through all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in under two
hours. The Company have
been playing this to packed houses in Budapest and other European venues
for three years and it’s a great opportunity to see it in Waterville.
The ‘Complete Works of
Shakespeare’ will be performed in the Bayview Hotel on Friday 8th
August at 8.00 pm. Tickets
available at the door or from Mike Kelly at 087 4156409.
Tickets price - €10.00 (concessions where applicable).
